Norfolk County Agricultural High School Distinguished Alumni Award
The Alumnus of the Year award was originally established to annually recognize one outstanding alumnus who served as a role model, participated actively in the Aggie community, and achieved success within their specific agricultural field of employment.
Given the evolving definition of agricultural education—which now encompasses a wider range of study areas—and the strong academic program that prepares Aggie students for diverse careers both inside and outside of agriculture, we recognized the need to update the criteria.
Therefore, we have broadened the scope and created a new Distinguished Alumni Award. This new program allows for the induction of multiple nominees each year, acknowledging the many alumni who, while having moved outside of traditional agricultural fields, have gone on to achieve inspirational and exceptional careers in other areas.
Criteria for selection will be based on accomplishments in one or more of the following
Professional Achievements and Successes
Military Service Distinction
Demonstrated commitment to service in their community through volunteer efforts
Qualified individuals must be Aggie Graduates (living or deceased) of more than 10 years, nominated by a fellow alumnus or staff member.
We are also adding a new award - Distinguished Staff Award, to be awarded to nominated staff members of the Aggie. Staff members can be teachers, admin staff, cafeteria workers, etc. Have a favorite teacher - nominate them! Want to recognize a Coach - nominate them!
Qualified staff members (living or deceased) must be a retired employee of the Aggie, and must be nominated by an alum or staff member.
Former Alumnus of the Year recipients are automatically designated as a Distinguished AlumnI and do not require re-nomination; a list of these honorees is available under the Alumni Tab-Alumnus of the Year dropdown on our website.
Please note that your past nominations remain active in our annual review , so there’s no need to resubmit.
